INSIDE GARDEN

The past few years have bounded people to the limits of their homes, creating a sanctuary space with no connection with nature. Because of this, consumers are now seeking to reconnect with the earth and find within it new paths and healing.

Inspired by this trend and worldwide-shared feeling, I wanted to create a pattern full of life, filled with open and lively flowers ready to bring freshness and a breath of air to whoever wears it. I decided to create the pattern with verticality and continuity to signify growth and inspire a reconnection with nature.

PROCESS

First, I sketched elements separately and then developed a layout with Adobe Photoshop. I then made painted trials of the motifs, searching for the right technique. And finally, painted motifs with dyes in layout (actual scale). I decided to do it in two full repeats to have a variety of motifs, expecting the flowers to come out differently each time painting with dyes.

Scanned and edited the paintings with Adobe Photoshop.

The color palette was inspired by the natural trend, I chose warm and rich colors for a sophisticated palette.
