ATMOSPHERE
“Atmosphere” refers to the amount of oxygen and fuel in a glass-blowing kiln. The inspiration behind this rug is work by glass artists Antonio da Ros and Anna Torfs. Sinuous curves and a layered composition resemble the sequential shapes in glasswork.
I wanted this design to have an organic feel and lots of movement to guide the vision around the space. A complimentary palette keeps the focus on the organic shapes, while layered monochromatic color combinations emulate the natural transparency of glasswork.
