Paper Flowers

Inspired by the Polish paper art, "Wycinanki," this maximalist pattern evokes a folk aesthetic and celebrates modernity and tradition.

Intricately-drawn motifs are balanced by a simple repeat in a way that allows colors to pop while maintaining a clean and modern feel.

INSPIRATION

PROCESS

Developed the motifs and lay out in Adobe Illustrator from a sketched reference. Using laser cutting, the motifs were then cut in colored art paper (Canson Mi-Teintes).

After assembly, the motifs were scanned and edited in Adobe Photoshop keeping the paper texture and shadows to maintain the paper art feel.
